We spent five days at this house which is not as appears. Is cozy and nice, but the pictures makes it seem a little bit better. No matter, at the beginning we were ok. A couple of days after the reservation the owner asked us to not use the kitchen. Didn't understand why she didnt' advised us before reserving than after. The second day we were there internet stopped working; we asked for help, she asked us for pictures, pictures of what, really dont' understand why you need a photo if internet is not working. So we did the classical things, we turn off/on the modem but still not working. We decide that this wont be a problem as we had our own mobile phones internet.
So the last day while I was using a plug near the router's cable, the router felt down from the shelf with a crystal lamp under, and broken the lamp. It has to be told that the plugs are quite shitty, very badly working. So when the router felt on the lamp ( I swear I didn't nothing at all ) I immediately sent a message to the owner and tell her what happened; in the same message I also offered to find together a solution even if I actually didn't broke the lamp. No matter, we thought that won't cost too much if we find out a vintage lamp in a market. So we never had an answer to that. She neither wrote us to ask when we leave the flat, or if we have to do something special inside before leaving. It felt quite strange, normally owners at least salute you, but in this case nothing happened. She neither answered to our message.
Four days after she wrote me that she was surprised to find out a broken lamp and some sheets to have an extra cleaning. She directly told us that we have to pay 110.000 won and she sent us the invoice to be paid. I answered immediately telling her that first of all I have informed her and sent a picture about what happened, and if I didn't do that I could also doubt about what she is talking about as she wrote 4 days after. then I also told her that the stuff she should wash extra is ordinary cleaning as my hair is tied with a natural no chemic red color and with a normal washing machine it would be washed. Also as the flat doesn't have a washing machine we have been washing our stuff and seen that a washing in industrial washing machine is of 5000 won while she was claiming us to payo 40 000 won.
For the lamp she is asking 70.000 won while in ikea an identical lamp cost 29 000.
So the problem here is not paying 110.000 which we immediately told her that we will not. But the problem is someone trying to take advantage while not answering when you offer to find a solution. I also told her that we will be bakc in Seoul and we really want to solve the thing, but her answer was that I should be very ashamed because due to my behaviour she would never again accept people from my country. Differently from that very bad way to consider a country, I felt in love with South Korea and Seoul, the people from there who has been lovable and welcoming and Im not considering that every Korean person is trying to take advantage from me as this woman is trying to do.
Certainly I won't be back in this flat, which by the way has the same cost as much better flats from this platform and with similar fees.
