House of Jeong On's descendents: Room for 2 persons (1)

[ About the Place ]

It is a head family house, where the offspring's have lived with serving the shrine of Jeongon (1569-1641) and it is composed by main gate, large Sarangchae (Husband quarters), inner gate, inner Sarangchae, storeroom, Anchae (Housewife's quarters), and main Sarangchae, shrine, and soiled fence. The calligraphy, conferred by King Jongjo, is hanged on the lofty gate. The Sarangchae, in front 6 Kan and 2.5 Kan in the back, is a shape of "ㄱ” and " March, the Gyongjin year of the reign of King Sungjong," is written in the ridge beam of a Sarangchae, which belong to the 20th year of Sunjo (1820). There is a hanging board, written by King Jongjo on the floor wall of a Sarangchae. 
If we translate this, it says " even though time passes, mountain is blue and high, and just the heaven and earth is full of righteous atmosphere/ Whether you go north (stating that Kim Sang Hun went to Shimyang) or south (visiting to Jeongon to bring him) justice has not changed/ Pure and Solid fidelity and spirit like gold doesn't get rot.” 
The main building has front 8 Kan, and Flank 3.5 Kan. Because of the stylobate of the main building, detached building is low and the floor of veranda is installed high. In the east of yard, there is an outer wing building for the orientation of west and it is 4 Kan. Shrine is placed within the low soiled wall fence between the three gates. Generally, it is well- organized nobility, and reflects the construction feature of Joseon dynasty, which distinguishes each space in accordance with the status of a person. This house has been taken cared by the eldest grandson of the main family.
