Chungcheongbuk-do Cheongju-si
Hanok Onon
Cheongju, the birthplace of Jikji,
A place that quietly breathes within the traditional Korean house village of Ochang Mirae-ji Rural Theme Park, where nature and people harmonize beautifully—
This is Hanok Onon (溫溫).
The name Hanok Onon carries two layers of warmth.
The first "on" (溫) means warmth,
and the second "on" (溫) carries the meaning of warmth that accumulates over time.
We chose this name with the hope that
as warmth builds up day by day,
your mind becomes more at ease during your stay,
and you naturally find yourself breathing more peacefully
in this space.
Hanok Onon is
a 'premium private hanok pension' that opens exclusively for 'one group per day.'
Without the gaze or noise of other guests,
we operate as an independent space from reservation to checkout
so you can focus entirely on time with your group alone.
Whether it's a family trip, a quiet retreat with your loved one,
a special occasion with cherished people,
or simply a day to rest without any plans—
regardless of your reason for visiting,
you can remain in pure rest without unnecessary interruptions.
Hanok Onon is
a standalone private hanok built in the traditional manner,
located within the hanok village of Ochang Mirae-ji in Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province.
While preserving the unique aesthetic of traditional hanok—
the curves of the tiled roof, the grain of wooden pillars,
and the light and breeze filtering under the eaves—
we have carefully complemented it
so there is no inconvenience in modern living.
The most important considerations during your stay are
cleanliness and comfort.
All bedding is washed after each guest's use following the principle of 'one wash per one stay,'
so everything is always prepared in a clean and cozy state.
Since these are quilts and pillows that touch your skin directly,
we pay attention to every detail, even what's not visible.
In the kitchen,
we provide a convenient 'ice water purifier' and
a 'chef-grade refrigerator' with excellent temperature control and storage capacity,
so you can use it without inconvenience—
from simple meals to storing barbecue ingredients.
Additionally, we have installed 'system windows' that effectively block cold and hot air from outside,
allowing you to maintain the unique coziness of a hanok regardless of season.
Warm in winter, cool in summer—
you can experience a comfortable indoor environment even in a hanok.
Stepping out into the courtyard,
the serene atmosphere unique to Hanok Onon becomes even more vivid.
The well-maintained courtyard and traditional pavilion
embrace warm sunlight in the morning
and quiet darkness with soft lighting in the evening.
Simply sitting in the pavilion with a cup of tea
or gazing at the sky in silence
allows you to naturally feel that you've escaped your busy daily life.
As the sun sets,
when lights begin to turn on one by one under the eaves,
the hanok reveals a different face from daytime.
Within the quietness created by wood and tile,
the pace of the day naturally slows down,
and the hearts of those staying here settle along with it.
Here, time when you don't need to do anything
becomes the greatest value.
Hanok Onon pursues
restrained beauty over extravagance,
simplicity over complexity.
We have provided what is necessary in abundance
while removing what is unnecessary,
so that our guests can focus on the space itself.
Within the charm of a traditional hanok,
we hope you spend a day that is humble yet profound,
a time that is quiet yet lingers long in your memory.
We sincerely thank all of you who have chosen Hanok Onon,
and we hope that your day with us
becomes a warm memory that accumulates over time.
