Host

Reporting Damages

Hosts may request compensation if issues arise regarding property items or facilities after a guest checks out. Please follow the procedures below when damage or destruction occurs at your property.

  • Inform the guest about the damage or destruction at the property.
  • You must report the damage to the Wehome Customer Center within 7 days of the guest's checkout. If the host does not report the damage within 7 days, the security deposit will be automatically refunded to the guest.
  • Upon receipt of a damage report, Wehome will withhold the security deposit refund.
  • Hosts may submit a Damage Compensation Claim along with supporting evidence within 14 days of checkout for the reported damages.
  • Wehome will pay the costs to the host from the security deposit and refund the remaining balance to the guest.

How to Claim Compensation

Within 7 days of the guest's checkout, please submit a compensation claim including the exact security deposit amount requested, specific evidence of the damage, and the associated costs, within 14 days of checkout.

  • Scope of Claim: The security deposit can only be used for compensation for damages (up to the set security deposit limit). It cannot be claimed for costs related to the use of the property or additional services (utility bills, etc.). However, for long-term stays of 28 days or more, excessive utility costs may be claimed from the security deposit.

  • Claim Details

Please provide proof of expenses incurred to restore the property from damage or destruction. ex) Property damage -> Receipts for restoration costs (item purchase costs, facility installation service fees, etc.) ex) Odor in property -> Receipt for cleaning costs to remove the odor

  • For items where it is difficult to provide receipts, please provide detailed photos of the damage as evidence and fill in the details in the [Detailed Claim Items] section.

  • Please notify us if the guest does not agree to the security deposit claim.

  • Wehome will verify the facts of the damage and mediate the compensation if necessary.

Host compensation claim

Send the reservation, amount, damage date, and evidence within 14 days after checkout. Wehome reviews it and pays from the deposit.

Enter the reservation code from guest reservations or messages as it appears.

Use year-month-day order.

If you set a deposit, we can pay compensation from it up to that limit. Reservations without a deposit are discussed with the guest and may be hard to claim. We recommend setting a deposit on your listing for future reservations. Set a deposit in listing edit
